Our MissionGNRC's mission is to help guide and accommodate the growth and development of the Region in the most desirable, efficient, and cost effective manner through regional planning and cooperation. Local area governments deal with many issues of common regional concerns through the Council, including transportation, solid waste management, air and water quality, area growth forecasts and impact analysis, programs for the region's elderly, overall economic development, and others. One of the Council's responsibilities is to assist member governments in providing community and industrial infrastructure in support of regional economic development and new job creation. In this role, the Council helps bring many financial and other resources together from the local, state and federal levels, as well as the private sector. |
